Take best parts of different Panerai watches and rolling it into a brand new watch and you get the new Submersible PAM 389. This beautiful watch comes in a 47mm brushed titanium body house in an elegant 1950’s case. It has a black face with the date at the 3 o’clock and the seconds hand at 9. This beautiful PAM389 uses the in house Panerai P.9000 calibre movement which has a total of 28 jewels and carries a 3 day power reserve. The bezel is brushed titanium with polished edges, anti-clockwise unidirectional rotating with graduated scale for calculating the time of immersion and ratchet click at minute intervals.
Pricing on the PAM389 right now is around 8900 Euro which at the current conversion rate would put it at around $11,675 in USD.
One of the interesting features on this watch is the fact that it’s antimagnetic. Why you ask? Magnetic fields can alter the rate of a watch and in extreme cases can stop the movement of the watch. The PAM 389 utilizes a special construction which gives it a high resistance to magnetic fields. To achieve this they use a special internal case made of soft iron of a very high purity, which encloses and isolates the movement.
Just received my Panerai PAM 389 – what a knockout, stunning piece.
