Officine Panerai continues to expand their global reach with the opening of their first ever boutique in South Africa. The Johannesburg located boutique was once again conceptualized and designed by none other than the world renowned Patricia Urquiola.
Design Visionary Urquiola has been the lead in Panerai boutiques including Florence, Milan, Paris, Hong Kong, Beijing, Taipei, New York, and the flagship store in Miami.
The inaugural boutique is located in an iconic shopping mall in the city, the Sandton City Mall. The boutque which features 36 square meters devoted solely to sales has exterior windows that face out into the malls walkways.
As with the other boutique renovations, Urquiola references materials that have deep ties to Florentine way of life and the world of the sea. These elements include “Calacatta Luccicoso” veined marble on the the floor, vitrines on the outside composed of polished brass and wood, and retro-styled chandeliers above the two sales counters which are finished in bronze as well.
The new boutique would not be complete without the large Panerai wall clock that can be seen in most the 66 Officine Panerai boutiques around the world.
